Why a collection book should be as beautiful as the cards
Anyone who collects or trades cards knows the feeling: a good card wants to be held, tilted into the light, its print and surface seen. Most management tools take exactly that away. They reduce a card to a name, a number and a price in a cramped table row.
For Cardmos the starting point was different: the collection book should do the original justice. Large, sharp card images, a calm grid, enough space between the cards. Nothing blinks, nothing pushes. Your eye stays on the card, not on the interface.
This is not purely a matter of taste. Anyone who shows their inventory publicly also sells on the first impression. A tidy, high-quality showcase reads differently than a list of text lines – for collectors just as much as for walk-up customers at a show.
At the same time, beauty must never slow the work down. Behind the calm image sits real function: search, filters by game and status, market prices, drag & drop ordering. The design organises these functions instead of hiding them.
Our bar stays simple: the collection book should feel as valuable as the cards inside it. Everything else bows to that standard.
